Our next semester begins September 9th and we invite you to join us! Childcare is available, but registration is needed each week. The study meets weekly on Thursdays from 7-9pm.
The 2:7 Series is a discipleship training curriculum done in small groups at tables of couples, men, and women. Essentially, 2:7 disciples you while training and equipping you to disciple others. It starts with the fundamentals and then continually promotes life and heart application as we grow (instilling how you'd disciple anyone who is a new believer in Christ). It is sometimes easy to approach studies as scholastic, but that is not the goal. Our prayer is that we humbly grow in the Lord and that He would move in our hearts and continually affect the way we live and think in every way.
Each of the 3 workbooks of the study are offered every semester (Spring, Summer, Fall) and are an 11-week course. Between each book, there is a 4-5 week break. The name is based on the Scripture reference Colossians 2:7 - the statement of the Apostle Paul to a New Testament church: "Rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with gratitude." What the apostle Paul, under inspiration of the Holy Spirit, expresses in this passage clearly defines the specific goals of this training:
- For a Christian to be built up in Christ and strengthened (established) in their faith. This series of courses includes instruction in practical Bible study techniques, prayer, Scripture memory, fellowship, obedience, and tools to use in evangelism.
- For a Christian to learn to overflow with gratitude in everyday life. The series will help an individual learn to experience and enjoy a stable and consistent Christian walk.
- For a Christian to be taught (or instructed). The three books build upon the book before it and are designed to be completed in sequence.
